Wacker Chemical: Taking a Seepage Solution Directly to Apartment Homes
For a product designed to solve a specific household problem, visibility alone isn't enough. The communication needs to reach consumers where the problem is relevant and where they can act on it. Wacker Chemical partnered with The Media Ant to build awareness and encourage product trial through a hyperlocal digital campaign in Bangalore.
The Challenge
Wacker Chemical has a strong product designed to help prevent seepage and fungus growth in homes, but despite having an effective solution, the brand faced a key challenge: low visibility among potential consumers.
The task was to get the product in front of the right audience and create enough interest to encourage them to try it.
The Objective
The campaign objective was to drive product trial by reaching consumers in environments where seepage, dampness and fungus could be an immediate household concern.
TMA’s Solution
Since the product's usage is primarily relevant to apartment homes, The Media Ant adopted a hyperlocal digital strategy rather than targeting Bangalore as one broad audience.
We identified large apartment communities as the key media environment and used programmatic Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) advertising to deliver video ads on digital screens installed in lift lobbies.
This put the brand's communication directly within residential spaces, reaching consumers in the very environment where the product could be relevant.
Campaign Execution
The campaign was executed through programmatic DOOH, using video creatives on screens across large apartment communities in Bangalore.
- Platform: Programmatic DOOH
- Format: Video
- Targeting: Large apartment communities
- Geography: Bangalore
- Campaign Objective: Product trial
- Campaign Duration: [To be added]
The placement strategy allowed Wacker Chemical to achieve high reach and high frequency within a short period, ensuring that residents encountered the brand communication repeatedly rather than as a one-time exposure.
What Made the Campaign Successful?
The campaign's strength came from the proximity of the communication to the consumer's point of pain.
By placing the brand inside apartment communities and specifically in lift lobbies, the campaign reached a highly relevant residential audience with repeated exposure. The combination of hyperlocal targeting, high frequency and contextual relevance helped make the communication more actionable and strengthened the call to action.
Instead of simply telling consumers about a solution, the campaign brought that solution closer to the problem it was designed to solve.
